Dashonn Magette, 24, of the 3600 block of South Rhodes Avenue, is charged with a shooting that left 3 injured. He was trying to settle a score with another man after a fight last week, by, shooting the other man, and injured two innocent bystanders in the process, police said.

He was scheduled to appear in Cook County Central Bond Court on Monday to face three charges of aggravated battery with a firearm following the shooting midday Thursday, police said.



Man critically hurt

A 26-year-old South Chicago man wounded Tuesday night near the Dan Ryan Expressway, authorities said.

He was with friends in the 7900 block of South Wabash Avenue when a fight broke at about 9 p.m., police said.

He was shot multiple times but suffered graze wounds to the head and his upper back, police said.

Daniel Moreno 23-year-old, of the 3200 block of Halsted Avenue, was shot to death at a south-suburban beauty shop Tuesday night, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Body of school board president found in Chicago River

A body body found in the Chicago River is believed to be that of Michael Scott, the president of the Chicago Board of Education. He was reported missing by concern family members the day before.

Police were called to an area near 350 N. Orleans Street in the River North neighborhood about 3:15 a.m. where they found the man in the water, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

No other details were available.

Local New: Man stabbed in forehead

A man was hospitalized Saturday morning after being stabbed multiple times -- including in the forehead -- in the West Town neighborhood on the West Side.

The victim, 23, was stabbed in the forehead, chest and arm by a known offender in the 3100 block of West Walton Street about 1:15 a.m., according to police.

The victim was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in unknown condition, but he was speaking and conscious when he called for help, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Saturday morning.

Richard Heene , pleaded guilty to a felony count of falsely influencing the sheriff who led the rescue effort during the 50-mile balloon chase on Oct. 15.

CHICAGO - The Cook County Health Department has announced a series of vaccine clinics over the next several Saturdays.

They will start this Saturday, November 14th, then November 21st, December 5th and December 12th.

400 tickets to get a vaccine will be distributed at 7 A.M. at each site.

The four sites are:
The Cicero Health Center on Cermak Road.
The Cottage Grove Health Center in Ford Heights.
The Robbins Health Center at 134th and Kedzie.
And the Vista Health Center in Palatine.

Katt williams said he didn't break in no damn house stealing he was a guest stealing.

But on the serious side; Katt was a guest in the house he's accused of burglarizing. The house is owned by record producer Barry Hankerson, according to the police report.

Williams has been living in Hankerson house for nearly a month while filming a movie produced by Hankerson.

Williams, was arrested early Monday after he and an employee of Hankerson's argued. The employee called police and reported Williams had broken into the house with a crowbar, prompting the burglary report.

Need To Make A Decision Fast

This morning I woke up tired thinking about I'm going to do. Every since I was laid off from work I'v done nothing but sit around the house getting fat. Should I go back to school or try looking for a job. School is a very good idea, but; the only problem "MY AGE". Can I compete with the younger generation? I don't even want to think about settling for a lower paying job right now, because to me it's like starting over. And besides I have to many bills. Guess I'll weigh my two option and decide in a few day's. Anyone out there have any comment on what I should do.

Today is Monday and I just walked up a flight of stairs and can barely catch my breath. And I know it too late to talk about going on a diet. Holidays are coming and the thought of Thanks Giving and Christmas Dinner make my mouth water. But I can start exercising but not today I'll start tomorrow.

Dreading The Holidays

Halloween is over thank god; because my niece and nephew ran me crazy. Every day in October my nice asked if it was Halloween, I felt like pulling my hair out. Didn't get any sleep last night and I'm so tired. Time changed, forgot to set all the clocks. Wow!! Today is going to be very long boring day. Don't even want to think about Thanksgiving and let alone Christmas because I already know every day in December my niece will start all over again "Is Today Christmas". I have tried to explain to her numerous times but it just haven't sunk in. Sometimes I beat her to the punch, before she could open her mouth to asked, I blurt out no! She just look at me with a sad face and walk away,but; it don't stop her from asking me the same question the very next day.
